It's been a while...
Business has been GREAT and I have had very little time to update my blog! Over the summer I did Clover market. Definitely check out their Facebook for locations and vendors.
Today I am off to set up Lydia's Guild but I thought I would take a moment to snap a few pictures of of the little guys going.

Miss Half & Half
This is " Miss Half & Half", named for the label on the old tobacco tin
that makes it look like a banner a beauty contestant wears. Her legs
are two recycled paintbrushes I painted then aged . Her neck is an old
thread spool, cut in half and that crown she's wearing is a re-purposed
toilet paper tube. I created her arms with clay and wire, and the little
blue bird she's holding ,too. Now the head started as a paper mâché
apple. I added some paper clay, old book pages, and tissue paper. She's a
winner, alright, my little Miss Half & Half.

Catch of the Day
This polymer clay and wood piece is done! Finally ! Sometimes it takes a
while for it to all come together. This head was made months ago, sat
on my work table, then I added the pointy hat. Still, I could not find a
body that looked right. When I pressed a broken watch face into a body
and matched it up with the head, it all came together fast. She is
holding a bucket of fish in one hand and 2 fish in the other. Look close
at the base, there is another clock face on the bottom base. She is "
The catch of the day".

Sketchbook
Ideas come........and go. So jotting them down in a sketch book is
important, FOR ME! I tend to get an idea for something and think " this
is a great idea." Then later say " what was that great idea I had?"
I also like to look back in my book and see the original sketch after the piece is done. I get to see the changes that happen from 2D to the 3D finished piece.

Saved from the Flea Market
Yesterday I went to an indoor flea market down in Philadelphia and bought this dog push up puppet. It was very old and very ugly. I repainted him to make him my own and I added this cute little girl made out of clay and wire.
Monster Monday
Happy Monster Monday!
Not quite a monster, no Frosty, just a creepy snowman.
Hand painted push up puppet to cheer up this cold dreary Monday!

Recyling Day
This hanging piece is made from some recycled items, I saved from the trash can. The legs are old paint brush handles... MY old paint brushes! Still covered in paint! The body is a part of a spindle and the very top is a piece of costume jewelry. The "feet" are a piece of copper pipe and a washer. The head is one of my handmade sculptures; made for this piece, and distressed to look as old as the recycled parts used to create the rest of the body.

In My Studio
Have you ever looked at a photo in a magazine of an "Artist's Studio" and it is clean, neat, and organized... and you think "that is NOT a working studio!" !? I know I do. I also know that I would LIKE my studio to be clean, neat, and organized but it never lasts. I can clean, or I can create. I just can't do both at the same time.
THIS is what my studio looks like this morning.

Monster Monday
I made these 3 little monsters so they can hang out in this cup I found at a flea market. The monsters are made from polymer clay then hand painted. Thanks to pinterest I learned this morning that this is a vintage egg cup. What are the odds that someone I follow would pin this exact cup on the morning I planned on sharing it on my blog? I love a cup with a face!
I think the little monsters ate the egg
